Welborn Hayhurst

Welborn Hayhurst, 87, of Hutto, passed away at home peacefully on November 24 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Pamela Hayhurst and celebrated 59 years of marriage. Welborn was born in Winters, November 9, 1935, to Leonidas andMamieHayhurstandraisedinCentraland South Texas. He graduated Abilene Christian University with a Master’s in 1963. After graduation he preached for the Church of Christ in Beloit, Wisconsin. He moved to New Zealand in 1968 where he preached for the Church of Christ in Invercargill and Dunedin for 40 years. Welborn retired to Georgetown in 2009, where he served as an Elder in the Georgetown Church of Christ, he was a farmer, hunter, fisherman and a jack of all trades who lived life to the fullest.

Welborn is survived by his wife, Pamela, son, Thane Hayhurst of Richardson, Texas wife, Julie, grandaughters, Adalie, Tilly, and Bronson, son, Mark Hayhurst of Austin, grandchildren, Hannah, and husband, Drew Dixon, Mya and Cole and daughter, Karissa Mayo of Sydney, Australia, husband, Andrew Mayo, grandchildren, Jack and Poppy, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Service of Celebration will be held a the Georgetown Church of Christ 1525 West University Boulevard, Georgetown, Texas, 78628 on Friday, December 2 at 3 p.m.
