Avelina Mena Sandoval

Avelina Mena Sandoval, 100, born November 10, 1922, in Andice Texas passed away peacefully November 24, 2022, in her home surrounded by her beloved children.

Avelina’s proudest accomplishment was her 30 year service Award presented to her by the Georgetown Healthcare System for her employment at the Georgetown Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Mena and Ramona Gutierrez, her husband, Jose Sandoval; brothers, Evodio, Victor, Jesus, and sister, Simona.

She is survived by son, Presciliano Sandoval, spouse, Isabell, their children, Deanna and Miguel; daughter, Francisca Barrera, spouse, Pedro, their children; Albert Barrera, spouse, Grace, Amy Barrera Deese, spouse, Danny, Pete Barrera Jr., spouse, Jeannie, Stephen Barrera, spouse, Stacy, Jesse Barrera, spouse, Gabriela; son, Jose Sandoval Jr., his sons, Jacob Scott Sandoval, Adam Sandoval; daughter, Mary Ann Vasquez, her sons, Philip Zavala and Michelle Flores; David Vasquez, Matthew Vasquez and Krista Schlumpberger; son, Samuel Sandoval and Cathy; their child, Nicole Sandoval.

Twenty-one great-grandchildren: Kade Michael Sandoval, Desiree Aguayo, Gabriel Barrera, Philip Zavala Jr., Pete G. Barrera , Jacob Barrera, Adam Sandoval Jr., Brieanna Barrera, Jayden Barrera, Aveeania Sandoval, Andrew Barrera, Olivia Barrera, Alexcis Sandoval, Danielle Barrera, Sofia Barrera, Jacob Scott Sandoval Jr., Stephen Barrera Jr., Arianna Ponce, Jonathan Sandoval, Isabelle Barrera and Andrew Ponce.

Eleven great-great-grandchildren: Aiylla Sandoval, Cj Curley, Mary Cervantes, Julian Barrera, Sylis Curley, Aaliyah Barrera, Alessaundra Romero, Amorette Martinez, Angelo Barrera Nathaniel Barrera and Victoria Cervantes.

A private memorial service will be at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel.
