Bonnie Knapp, age 83, died on December 27, 2022, at home in Tombstone, Arizona from her battle with breast cancer. She was born on February 10, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio. In 1957, she graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton, where she excelled in theater and dance. She married Fred Lewis Sr. and spent the next 17 years as a mother and military wife.
In 1975, Bonnie moved to Austin with her son, Fred, and started a career in apartment management. She managed several large apartment complexes around Austin before transitioning into a realtor in the 1980s.
Bonnie eventually moved to Sun City in Georgetown where she continued to sell real estate. She loved living in Sun City and the people there. She was very active with friends and social activities. Bonnie was also an excellent artist in which she mostly painted landscapes.
Bonnie was a loving mother and a good friend. She had many friends and loved spending time with them. She was kind, sensitive and genuinely cared about people, plants and animals especially dogs.
She is survived by her only child, Fred Lewis Jr., who lives in Tombstone, Arizona. No mother ever loved her child more than her. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends.
Bonnie was cremated in Sierra Vista, Arizona, at Hatfield Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held this spring in Sun City Georgetown.
