Scotty Rundell, age 74, of Georgetown, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, with his wife, Sally, by his side along with longtime friends, Reagan and Paula Cook.
He was born on July 16, 1948, in Muleshoe. He graduated from Bovina High School. He went on to Midwestern State University to pursue a B.A. degree in music. He met his wife of 38 years, Sally, at Southern Methodist University where they were both pursuing master degrees in music. Scotty received his Master of Sacred Music degree from the Perkins School of Theology at SMU. He worked as a Director of Music and Worship at several United Methodist churches throughout Texas. His heart was in planning a service of worship where scripture and music came together to bring praise for the God he loved. After serving in Music Ministry for 45 years, Scotty retired to spend more time enjoying basketball and time with Sally, hopefully not in that order.
Scotty was preceded in death by his parents: father, L. D. Rundell; mother and stepfather, Nadine and Tommy Paine; and a nephew, Blake Rundell. He is survived by his wife, Sally of Georgetown; his son, Dave Rundell (Rachel) of Universal City; a brother, Kim Rundell (Cathy) of Lubbock: and four grandchildren: Eliot, Jessie, Calvin and Quinton Rundell.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 2 at 1 p.m. at Wellspring, a United Methodist Community of Faith (6200 Williams Drive, Georgetown).
