Mary Louise Warner Russell, age 84, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2023. She was born March 2, 1939, in Sherman, Texas, to Lewis Bruno and Edith Estes Warner. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Edith Warner, husband, Clarence Randolph Russell Jr. and sisters, Joyce Kubrich, Barbara Cesar and Sue Roper. Mary is survived by a large and adoring family; her sister, Kay Allen of Richardson,Texas, her children; son, Drew and Laura Russell of Round Rock, Texas, son, Derek Russell and wife, Pam of Round Rock, Texas, daughter, Dawn Russell Richardson and husband, Lt. Col. Jesse Richardson, USAF Ret., of Georgetown, Texas, daughter, Dina Russell Cortez and her husband, Michael John Cortez of Round Rock, Texas, granddaughters; Cheyanne and Sierra Richardson, Sheri Madison Russell and Alexa Randi Cortez, grandsons; Zach Russell, Nick Russell, Chase Russell, Colton Russell, Dakota Richardson, Jack Russell, Grey Russell and great grandsons Atticus Russell, Knox Russell, Truman Russell, Cooper Russell, William Russell and a great-granddaughter Radley Russell. 

Her younger years saw the family move from Garland to Sherman a couple of times due to Lewis’s career. She attended Sherman High School and was a member of the band, and a majorette. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1957. She was an excellent student with many honors and received a scholarship to Southwest Texas Teacher’s College but had no desire to teach and did not attend. She started working in a doctor’s office as a bookkeeper. She married the love of her life, Clarence Randolph “Randy” Russell Jr., on February 20, 1960. Mary became the house manager with the arrival of their first child, Drew, in 1961. In 1964, she gave birth to their second son, Derek. The family moved to Endicott, New York in 1965 for Randy’s job and was transferred again in 1967 to Hamilton Square, New Jersey. Two beautiful daughters, Dawn and Dina were added to the clan in 1969 and 1971. The family moved to Upper Marlboro, MD in 1976. Mary returned to work in 1978 working for the Census Bureau and then State Farm after the family moved back to Texas in 1984, Randy and Mary resided in Round Rock until 2018. Mary was a loving and dedicated wife to Randy and mother to her children. She was always there to provide encouragement, guidance on life, and love as needed, and sometimes it was tough love.

Mary’s had several passions in life. She loved to read and consumed books in a dramatic fashion. Her favorite genre was murder mysteries. She loved music and loved to dance. Her children grew up experiencing this love and she danced every chance she got. Randy and Mary danced together almost every day right up to his death in 2019. Together, they loved to travel and go camping with the family. They shared many adventures over their 58 years of marriage and thru thick or thin were always together. 

The immediate family is planning a small private event for their Mom. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
