William Kurt Schoen

William Kurt Schoen was born January 10, 1944, in Springfield, Illinois. He passed away March 23, 2023, in Georgetown, Texas, having a two year struggle with Merkel Cell Carcinoma.

Bill served in The U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed in Blytheville, Arkansas. He was very proud to serve his country in the new advances of computer technology. Bill was a pioneer in the field of technology at McDonnell-Douglas in space exploration and moved to Hartford Connecticut where he retired. Bill then moved to Sun City, Texas, where he remained very active in civic and community endeavors until his passing.

He will be laid to rest with other family members at St. Thomas Church for Mount Calvary in Newton, Illinois. 

William will be deeply missed by his loving family and long time partner Carolyn Holloway. 

A memorial service will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home at 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas, April 19 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow. Memorials may be sent to The American Cancer Society or BS&W Foundation, or charity of your choice.
