James R. Greer

James R. Greer of Georgetown, Texas, passed away March 5, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home on April 26, 2025 from 
2-4 p.m.

Jim was born in Pikeville, Tennessee, on June 21, 1931. He went to high school in Pikeville, Tennessee and later in life earned a degree in accounting from Oakland Community College in Michigan.

Jim is survived by his wife Kathy of 43 years, his daughters Becky Greer and family of Holly, Michigan, and Elizabeth Tetrault and family of Fort Collins, Colorado, his grandchildren, sister Anita, brother Tommy, sister-in-law Pat, many nieces, nephews and Kathy’s family.

Jim served in the U. S. Army for a period of seven years with most of this time in Munich and Augsburg, Germany.  His working life in Texas was spent in construction, installation of air conditioning in the Williamson County Courthouse, contract worker for the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers, custom home builder, inspection of storage facilities in various states and Texas, construction and installation of a climate-controlled storage facility in Georgetown.  He was quite the handyman and committed to his projects and took great pride in his work.
