Robert I Klingler

Robert I Klingler

04/04/1947 – 10/05/2026

Robert Klingler was born the 4th of April, 1947 in Evanston, Illinois to parents, Irvin and Jean Klingler. He passed into Eternity the 5th of October, 2026 at the age of 79 and six months. He was home and surrounded by family.

Robert grew up with his sister, Linda, as they learned to sing together. He taught himself to play various instruments and enjoyed playing with friends and family.

After high school Robert went on to the University of Illinois and then to Michigan State University where he earned degrees in Science, taught some classes and spent two years doing cancer research. He became a medic and worked at Beaumont Hospital in El Paso during his time in the United States Army.

Robert enjoyed traveling through many states, Canada and Mexico. He spent a summer in the interior of Alaska helping a native couple panning for gold. His love for camping became the honeymoon he chose when he married his wife, Linda. They spent nine days on a canoe trip in the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota. As the years passed he introduced his son, Ben and daughter, Sara, to the experiences of roughing it while visiting many of the places he had enjoyed.

Ecclesiastes 12 was his last request to be read to him three days before he passed. Verse 1, “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth..." Robert had lived that in his deep reverence for our Creator. He made his choice to serve Him when he was twelve years old and was faithful to the end, embracing all the Word in the Gospel.

Robert is survived by his wife, Linda, son, Ben, daughter, Sara, two granddaughters,  Jewel and Kalli,  a sister, Linda and her husband Robert, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
