Gail Lynette Mason

Gail Lynette Mason, of Temple, Texas funeral service will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 9, 1 p.m.

Gail died April 25, 2025, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. She was born on March 20, 1949, in Taylor, Texas. She grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Carver High School in 1968. Gail married her high school sweetheart at 19 and moved to Kansas where he was stationed in the military. After completion, they returned to Georgetown. Gail completed LVN training at Georgetown Hospital and later worked as switchboard operator until retirement, after 44 years of employment.

She was preceded in death by two sons Tyrone, who died shortly after birth and Carlos Vasquez who died in 2024. Gail leaves to mourn two daughters Angela (Russell) of Hutto and Karla (Early) of Temple; three grandsons Tre’von, Adonis, and Ian; two great-grandsons and one great granddaughter.

Gail leaves behind sisters Cindy Fisher of Belton, Ima Miller of Belton, Jennifer Harris of Georgetown, and Anna Nelson Mathews; and brothers Mark Mason of Belton and Benjamin Mason; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gail embraced life with enthusiasm; she loved to play cards and dominoes with friends and family, she worked on puzzles on her own and not to forget those garage sales she delighted in. She had a love of sports, mainly football and basketball. The Dallas Cowboys were her favorite team; she rooted for them always and was looking forward to seeing them in another Super Bowl game with a win someday.

The viewing will be held Friday May 9, 2025, noon to 1 p.m. and funeral service 1-2 p.m.
