Steve Alan Whitfield of Georgetown, TX, (born April 4, 1951) passed away in his home in the early morning of Thursday, May 22, 2025, from complications of a terminal illness that had been diagnosed about a year prior.

In his 74 years of life, Steve worked many jobs, most notably as a flooring installer. He was active in the Austin music scene, playing the drums in several local bands. Most recently, he was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Georgetown, where he participated in their music ministry for as long as he was able.

Steve's funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31, at the St. Paul Church. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett M. "Wheat" Whitfield, Jr, and Erna E. (Beckman) Whitfield; his sister Deborah A. (Whitfield) Branum and brother-in-law Michael D. Branum; and his grandson Erno Goran Eiman Whitfield.  Steve is survived by his widow Jessica Manson, his son and daughter-in-law Robert Whitfield and Summer Eiman, his nephew and niece Scott and Stacy Branum, and many extended family members.
