Suzanne Goerner Batchlear
Suzanne Goerner Batchlear passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at the age of 75. She was at her home, Brookdale, in Round Rock, Texas. Her last days were spent under the trusted care of many nurses, doctors and caregivers with Cella Bella Senior Services & Hospice at Brookdale Round Rock. Her daughter spent each day by her side offering all levels of care and love.
Born on September 24, 1949, in Bryan, Texas, to Harold Goerner and Paula Crosby Goerner, she was the eldest of five brothers and sisters. Suzanne grew up in Alum Creek, Texas. After attending school in Smithville, Texas, she attended Baylor University and later, classes at the University of Texas.
Suzanne married in 1971, at the age of 22 and became the proud mother of twins, Tanya and Tony, in 1972.
For over 30 years, Suzanne worked with the Internal Revenue Service in various positions including Senior Contract Analyst and Purchasing Agent, which she enjoyed greatly. She received numerous accolades and awards throughout her career. She was a dedicated and hardworking employee that her counterparts looked up to and valued.
Suzanne enjoyed social events and holidays with her family and friends. She loved reading, solving sudoku puzzles and shopping.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father.
She is survived by her siblings - Karen Zegub, Steven Goerner (Trish), Elizabeth Rinker (Joe Ray) and John Goerner (Patricia).
Her daughter - Tanya Suzanne Bridges and husband Robert Bridges; grandchildren - Christian Robert Bridges and Ashley Elizabeth McQuoid.
Her son - Tony Austin Batchlear, Jr. and wife Brenda Batchlear; grandchildren - Kaley Ann Shocklee, John Bryce Barrios, Caleb Austin Batchlear, and Alina Brooke Batchlear.
Suzanne’s selflessness and commitment reached past her family and touched the lives of everyone around her. May you rest in peace as the Lord welcomes you.
A Celebration of Mom’s Life is scheduled Saturday, June 21, 2025, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Wells Branch Community Center, 2106 Klattenhoff Drive, Austin. At noon there will be an opportunity to share personal memories in honor of her life followed by an assortment of some of her favorite foods for all to enjoy. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Cella Bella Senior Services & Hospice.
