Claude Norman McClelland
CLAUDE NORMAN MCCLELLAND
CLAUDE NORMAN MCCLELLAND, the only child of Claude Franklin McClelland and Katherine Sidorski McClelland, entered this world on January 9th, 1927, in Breckenridge, Texas. Claude passed away on June 22nd, 2025. At the age of two, his family relocated to Goose Creek, Texas, (later a part of Baytown). Claude attended and graduated from GCISD and later from Lee Junior College.
High school was followed by Army service in WWII. While stationed at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, Sgt. Claude met a lady with the “most beautiful blue eyes” he had ever seen. Courtship was followed by a long, happy marriage, which ended with Karlene’s death on November 7th, 2004.
Claude was employed by Humble Oil (later ExxonMobil) in February 1948 and retired from the Mechanical Staff 38 1/2 years later in August 1986. He was a member of Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321 AF & AM of Baytown. He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife of 58 years, Karlene Travis McClelland. He is survived by his and Karlene’s two daughters, Olivia of Jenner, California, and Claudia of Leander, Texas.
In accordance with his previously expressed wishes, no services will be held.
