MARILYN DALY “MARY” FINK

October 27, 1934 - September 12, 2025

Marilyn Daly “Mary” Fink, our beloved Mom and Grammy, passed away September 12, 2025 in Dallas, Texas after a short illness. Born Marilyn Nell Jones, October 27, 1934 in Amarillo, Texas, Mary’s family eventually moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where Mary graduated from Charlotte High School and attended Greensboro Women’s College. She became a Registered Nurse through Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1957.

Mary married Carl James Fink June 29, 1957. They made their home in Charlotte, North Carolina and soon welcomed Karen Elizabeth Fink (Santaella), Allison Elaine Fink (Summersett) and Stuart Carl Fink. In 1969 the family moved to Austin, Texas where Mary was active in public service. She helped found the Doss Elementary and L.C. Anderson High School PTAs receiving a Life Member status. A devoted leader of Girl Scout troop 32 for 5 years, she concurrently served on the Greater Austin Girl Scout Council Board. A beloved Bible teacher at Highland Park Baptist and Hyde Park Baptist Churches, Mary taught the oldest ladies for many years. She was a successful Real Estate Broker with Gene Spence & Associates and with Amelia Bullock for 10 years. In 2003, Mary and Carl moved to Sun City, Georgetown where she twice served as President of the Georgetown Study Club in the Senior Adult Ministry of First Baptist Church and as an instructor for Emotional Freedom Therapy.

Mary and Carl moved to CC Young in Dallas in 2019 where Mary served as a New Resident Ambassador and was a member of the Resident’s Council. She loved being involved in all aspects of life at CC Young. Most of all, Mary loved Jesus with all her heart and soul. Her life has been a continual quest to love Him more and to model His love.

Mary is survived by her sister, Gwen Potter (Ken), children Karen Heald Santaella (Manuel), Allison Fink Summersett (Jim), Stuart Carl Fink (Vicki), 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mary’s remains will be interred alongside those of her husband, Carl J. Fink, at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Mary desired donations go to The Samaritan’s Purse or to the Salvation Army. Cards may be sent to her son’s home, Stuart Fink 3549 Ballycastle Drive, Plano Texas 75074.
