Barbara Beggs Hallmark passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Born in Houston, Texas, on March 11, 1933, Barbara was the daughter of Ike and Marguerite Beggs and sister to Bill Beggs, Bette Claypool Wheat, and Susan Baker Lambert. She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces, nephews and their families.
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, she continued her studies at Columbia University, earning both her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in special education.
In 1982, Barbara founded Precision Travel in Dallas, a successful agency she enjoyed leading for 16 years before retiring to Sun City in Georgetown. In 2000, she married Bob Hallmark, and together they shared a wonderful life in the Sun City community.
Barbara was instrumental in helping establish Seeds of Strength local women’s charity and the Brookwood in Georgetown (BIG) community for adults with special needs, creating opportunities, dignity, and support for countless individuals and families. She also faithfully served as a board member of The Worship Place in Sun City.
More than her accomplishments, Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, determination, gracious spirit, and the genuine care she showed to everyone around her.
