Richard “Rick” Harris Williamson, affectionately known as “Ranger Rick,” passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, at the age of 81. Rick lived a life filled with adventure, creativity, humor, and deep devotion to family and friends.

Born in Leonardtown, Maryland, and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rick attended Grant High School before earning a debate scholarship to the University of Oklahoma. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Marketing and remained a lifelong supporter of OU and Sooners football.

Rick began his career in advertising and communications, later serving as Communications Director during the opening of DFW Airport. His passion for travel inspired him to found Heart of Texas Travel, a company he proudly owned and operated for 18 years.

A man of many talents, Rick was a gifted landscape designer, Expert gardener, and exercise instructor for nine years. He loved music, played guitar, and brought joy to gatherings with his warmth, wit, and storytelling. After moving to Austin, he served as president of the University of Oklahoma Club of Austin.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Forsythe; his mother-in-law, Bobbie Forsythe; and his brother-in-law, Donald “Buddy” Forsythe; and many extended family members, dear friends and fellow travelers whose lives were enriched by his kindness and enthusiasm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Williamson and Eleanor Harris Williamson.
