Adrienne Imogene Flynn Padfield
Adrienne Imogene Flynn Padfield was lifted to Heaven by the angels early in the morning of August 2, 2022.
Adrienne was born November 3, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Josephine Luntzel Flynn and Nate Flynn. About the time Adrienne was finishing elementary school, the family moved to Texas. After graduating from Beaumont High School, Adrienne attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, and joined Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Her sophomore year, she transferred to the University of Houston, where she studied home economics and Elementary Education. While there, she met Donald Padfield, a fellow member of the Wesley Foundation. Both she and Donald graduated, were married January 23, 1959, set up house in southeast Houston, and spent the next 65 years together.
After their children Kathryn and Alan were born, Adrienne stayed home. Not long after the children finished college and moved on with their lives, Adrienne attended South Texas College of Law, and became a lawyer in 1991. Adrienne practiced family law for 10 years in the Clear Lake area near Houston. In 2001, Adrienne and Donald retired to Sun City in Georgetown. Over the next several years, they traveled the world.
Although Adrienne’s last seven years of life were marked by Alzheimer’s, she left us smiling and at peace. The family is grateful for the wonderful caregivers at Autumn Leaves and The Wesleyan, all of whom helped to keep Adrienne smiling.
Adrienne is survived by her husband, Donald Padfield, her son, Alan Padfield, her daughter, Kathryn Baffes, her sonin- law, Paul Baffes, her grandchildren, Russell Padfield, Vivian Baffes, and Sophia Baffes Foster and her husband ,John Foster.
A memorial service honoring Adrienne will be held at 4 p.m., November 19, 2022, at First United Methodist Church Georgetown, 410 East University Avenue, Georgetown, Texas 78626. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in honor of Adrienne to First United Methodist Church Georgetown, The Wesleyan, or a charity of choice.
