Cathy Hubbard passed into Eternal Life on April 14, surrounded by her family. Cathy was 84 years old, and had lived in Georgetown with her family since 1972. Cathy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 19, 1940, to Helen and John Ayres. She graduated from Roxborough High School and attended Kutztown Teachers State College, Kutztown, Pennsylvania.

Cathy and Frank were married at North Muchmore Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on June 29, 1958. Together, they enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and traveling the world. She was an incredible cook; she loved to cook for family and friends. Cathy shared her joys, singing, dancing, birthday parties, creative play and all the beauty of nature with her children.

Cathy was very active in church and the community. She was a member of the church choir, served as an elder and a deacon at First Presbyterian Church. Her traits as a mother, a leader, a teacher, a volunteer and an advocate were shared through community involvement including Georgetown Area Community Theater, Girl Scouts, PTA, Hospice Austin and the Caring Place.

Cathy’s work with La Leche League and Capital Area March of Dimes showed her emphasis on motherhood and family.

Cathy was a Girl Scout and continued as a leader of troops from Brownies to Seniors Scouts, welcoming all girls to join. Her favorite Scout activities were singing, hiking and camping.

Cathy stood up for those that did not have a voice, through her work as a job counselor in programs covered by CETA, Williamson and Burnet County Opportunities and Job Corp. She was a key part of bringing Hospice services to Georgetown, also serving as a volunteer.

Cathy is survived by her children, Natalie Hubbard, Amy Vick, husband Jimmy, and Frank Hubbard, IV. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Ashley Vick, her children Vail Campbell Vick and Jameson Jaguar Vick:  Jenny Vick, her children, Stella Mae Gibbs, Raylee Jean Gibbs, and Layla Kate Vick. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Hubbard (husband), Judy Meissner (sister) and Grace Alyce Vick (great-granddaughter).

Please join us for a Celebration of Life for Cathy on May 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Georgetown, Texas. A reception will follow the service.
