Domingo M. Bracamontes

Our loving father, Domingo M. Bracamontes, left this world peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the age of 88. He will be sadly missed by many, and will always hold a place in our hearts. He was a faithful servant of our Lord in every aspect of his life. He was a longtime member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Georgetown, where he served on numerous committees. He could often be found helping maintain the church grounds, ushering at masses, and calling BINGO on Sunday nights. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 50 years where he served the church community at fish frys and other church gatherings.

Domingo was born in Andice, Texas, on September 30, 1934, to the late Estanislado Bracamontes and Concepción Mena. He was the oldest of 14 children. He was married to Juana Richarte Bracamontes for 53 loving years until Juana’s passing in January of 2016. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, San Gabriel Council. Among other jobs, he worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator at Texas Crushed Stone for 40 years. He loved playing pranks on his coworkers and often gave them nicknames. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his grandkids. He was a strong, disciplined person, but also had a wonderful sense of humor that he showed often, even during his last few days.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children Jesse Bracamontez and Melinda May, of Pflugerville,  Texas; Becky Cansler and husband Clay, of Pflugerville, Texas; Cecilia Ramirez and husband, Roger, of Georgetown,  Texas; and Domingo Bracamontez, Jr., and wife, Terry, of Leander,  Texas. Grandchildren Peyton Bracamontez, Preston Bracamontez, Parker Bracamontez, Michal Loera, Luisa Loera, Evan Ramirez, Justin Olguin, Tyler Bracamontez, Sipriana Robledo and fourteen great-grandchildren. Siblings Sylvester Bracamontez, Alfredo Bracamontez and his wife, Lucy, Ray Bracamontez and his wife, Alice, Susie Ramos, Joe Bracamontez and his wife, Mary Jane, Gene Bracamontez and his wife, Susie, Tommie Vasquez and her husband, Robert, Ramona Alvardo and her husband, Ruben, Margaret Torres and her husband, Abelardo, Eddie Bracamontez and his wife, Vickie, Ernest Bracamontez and his wife, Peggy and Fernanda Munoz; along with a host of loving nieces and nephews and other friends.

He is preceded in death by his spouse, Juana Richarte Bracamontez, parents, Estanislado Bracamontez and Concepcion Mena, siblings, sister, Maria de Jesus Bracamontez, brother, Florencio Bracamontez, and sister, Domitila Bracamontez and brothers-in-law, Marcos Ramos and Randy Munoz.

A visitation with the family will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel from 6-8 p.m. with the rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be held the following afternoon at St. Helen Catholic Church on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at
1:30 p.m., with the burial to immediately follow at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery.

Thank you to all of the caregivers at Brookdale Georgetown and the Cottages of Chandler Creek Round Rock. Your love and care for our dear father is much appreciated and will not be forgotten.
