Gordon James Monson
GordonJamesMonson, son of Wendell and Ethel Monson, was born February 19, 1942, in Fargo, North Dakota. He served in the Army at Ford Hood inKilleenwhereheserved as an assistant chaplain; as well as in the Vietnam conflict. He remained in Texas for 52 years. On Friday, October 28, he passed from complications from myeloma.
Godon was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lou Alice (Schneider) and sister, Patricia Blegen, Gordon leaves behind sisters, Diane Chambers (Dan, deceased), Chari Honrud- Dorval (Gary), Donna Royal (Mike), Becky Ohnstad (Vern), brother, Ken (Julie) and sisterin- law, Linda (Johnny) Zuehlke. He is survived by his nephew, Frank Custer, and he also leaves many nieces and nephews.
His interment will be following worship (11:45 a.m.) at the cemetery at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Walburg. All are welcome to participate in the graveside service.
