James (Pat ) Wallace

James (Pat ) Wallace 92, Passed peacefully on June 14th, 2023 in Georgetown, Texas. Pat was born and raised in Lubbock. He was proud to say he grew up with the biggest playground right in his backyard — Chapman Field.

He married Wanda (nee Woody) Wallace in 1952. They are survived by Rick Wallace of East Amherst, NY and Randa Toungate of Georgetown, Texas. Pat was an entrepreneur and a consummate salesman. He managed Hemphill Wells appliance stores, owned a gas station, Bar B Que joint, The Bill Collector and in 1974 developed one of the first pecan orchards in the county and named it the Pecanderosa. All during his time in Lubbock. In 1979 he moved to Albuquerque where he was the Regional Manager for Consolidated Appliance and then started another company Sweedi Pie — no sugar added pie fillings and desserts - which at one point were sold in all Albertson Stores in the west.

He was constantly remodeling and building homes, rental properties, and finally a cabin in Rahma, NM which he was very proud of.

He is survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and his lifelong friend and “last man standing” Gene Etter of Lubbock.
