9/19/2006 – 1/22/2023 Forever 16. A soul so young with life to live was cut short unexpectedly and unintentionally on Sunday, January 22, and will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Layton is the 16-year-old son of Cody J. Ivins, (Georgetown) and Dakotah D. Buckley (Temple.) Layton was big brother and best friend to Kylon of Georgetown. Layton is survived by his parents, brother, grandparents: Wayne and Lori Ivins (PaPa and YaYa) of Georgetown and Rhonda Schwertner (Nonnie) of Walburg and James Schwertner (Papa J) of Jarrell. Uncles/Aunts: Justin Ivins, Brandon and Kristina Ivins, Andrew & Brittany Ivins, cousins Weslyn and Sutton Ivins all of Georgetown and Landon Schwertner of Walburg. Also survived by great-grandparents: Phyllis Coston of Georgetown and Thomas and Winnie Buckley of Jarrell.
Layton was so creative as shown in his art, the many musical instruments he learned and even when producing his own music. He loved skateboarding, cars, going to the graffiti park in Austin, paint-balling, hanging out with his friends and family. Layton is compassionate, kind and always had a smile. He worked two jobs, Jimmy Johns and Raising Cane’s Chicken in Georgetown while attending the 10th grade at Georgetown High School. Layton, his dad and brother would often serve others participating with a local non profit or bringing sandwiches to the homeless in Austin. He had a way of seeing the best and kindness in people. Layton had the best hugs. Friends described Layton as “such light,” “a friend to everyone,” “bright soul,” “showed so much love,” “hilarious” and “brave.”
