Melba J. Naylor

Melba J. Naylor, 90, of Georgetown, Texas died peacefully on April 1, 2026, after several months in Hospice.  Mrs. Naylor was born March 20, 1936, in East Texas where she spent her early life before moving to the Garland, Texas area. She graduated from Garland High school in 1954 and went on to attend college at Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas. While there as a young woman she became a member of the world-famous Kilgore College Rangerettes where she was a member of Line 16 in the precision drill team. After some time, she met and married Doug Waters of Atlanta, Texas and they had two children, Mark and Matt. She spent her professional career working as a Human Resource manager with the Federal Aviation Administration in the D/FW area. It is here that she would meet her second husband George Naylor and would stay married until his death in 2000. She lived in Georgetown for about 20 years until her death.

Surviving members of her family include her sons Matt and Mark and his wife, Paula Waters, grandsons Tanner and Trent and wife Amber with great grandsons Dean and Grayson. Also her stepson Jay Naylor and wife Lori and stepdaughter Kim Doege and husband Bill, with grandchildren Ben and Megan.

Her final preparations and cremation will be handled by the Ramsey Funeral home in Georgetown, Texas. As of this time no local services have been scheduled. It is her final wish that her ashes and those of her husband, George, be spread in the ocean at South Padre Island.
