Norma Ann Evans
Norma Ann Evans passed away Saturday evening, October 22, 2022. She passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 87. She was born in Fort Worth on September 15, 1935, to the parents of Raymond Leo Needham and Laura Mildred Norman.
She was raised in Fort Worth where she met her first husband, Doyle Hinkle, and had three children, Melinda Waller, Melissa Hodgson, and Mitzi Myers. Norma began her career in law enforcement at Benbrook Police Department and Forest Hills Police Department in the 1960’s as a Dispatcher. She was later married to Thomas Evans Jr. and they relocated to Austin where they had two children, Thomas Evans III and Michele McLoud. Norma also served as Deputy for the Travis County Sheriff’s Department in the early 1970’s. She worked for a State Representative, ran a daycare, and later taught Defensive Driving for over 20 years. She lived in Pflugerville for over 30 years and then moved to Liberty Hill where she remained until her death.
Norma is survived by her five children and sons/daughters in law, Melinda and Frankie Waller, Melissa and Mark Hodgson, Mitzi and Ron Myers, Tom and Sandra Evans, and Michele and Ronny McLoud. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Brad Schumann, Weston Balch, Marissa Dosser, Derek Hodgson, Cameron Hodgson, Robert Nickel, Kasey Holloway, Trey Evans, Dalton McLoud, and Megan Mc-Loud and 16 great-grandchildren.
Norma is survived by three sisters, Linda Havens of Victoria, Bishene Fisher of Victoria, and Robbie Rakowitz of Georgetown.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. The family will have a private burial service at Andice Cemetery following visitation.
Norma’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
