Sunset: August 30, 2025

Timothy Cornell “Tim” Bailey, 56, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed peacefully on August 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving mother, brother, and family after a courageous five-year battle with colon, spinal, liver and brain cancer.

Born June 14, 1969, in Georgetown, Texas, Tim was the eldest child of Sharron Chambers and Timothy Cornell Davis. Raised at Macedonia Baptist Church under the guidance of Reverend W. A. Cartwright and later Reverend Jimmy Johnson, Sr., Tim was baptized in his youth and became known for his rich baritone voice that blessed many services.

A graduate of Georgetown High School, Tim went on to study Mass Communications and Music at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State), where he also sang with Claudia Williams and the Voices of Christ Choir. In 2000, he moved to Washington, D.C., working in television and radio while finding his spiritual home at Community of Hope AME Church in Temple Hills, Maryland, under Senior Pastor Rev. Tony Lee. There he was ordained and faithfully served in ministry for over 20 years. Tim later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he also worshiped with The Dream Center Church.

Tim leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Sharron Chambers (Tommy Chambers); grandmother, Zelma Evans; siblings, Rochion Greg, Marcus Ross, Eli Davilla, Terrence “TK” Davis, Malinda Derry, and Sparkle Davis; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Theda Belle Davis, father Timothy Cornell Davis, and cousin Tracy Louise Davis.

There will be a Ministry in Music Celebration on Friday, September 19, 2025, beginning at 5 p.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 393 North Interstate 35, Georgetown, Texas, 78626.

Tim’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11 a.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 393 North Interstate 35, Georgetown, Texas, 78626, where the service will be livestreamed on their YouTube channel for those who cannot attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Black Men’s Health Initiative (BMHI) in Tim’s name.
