William (Bill) Gaston Boney, Jr.

William (Bill) Gaston Boney, Jr., of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2023, at the age of 94, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on August 3, 1928, to William Gaston Boney, Sr. and Stacy Elizabeth Lewis in Jacksonville, Texas.

A 1946 graduate from Byrd High School in Shreveport, Louisiana, Bill pursued a Chemical Engineering degree at Louisiana State University graduating in 1950.  He was subsequently inducted into the U.S. Army, serving in Korea and honorably discharged in 1953. He was employed for 32 years by Universal Oil Products (UOP) in Des Plaines, IL, retiring in 1987. Bill continued as a consultant, working worldwide with UOP for several years thereafter. Bill was passionate about the refining industry, developing multiple patents over the course of his career.

In 1957, Bill met Mary (Mimi) Bradshaw Newton. They married in Dallas in 1960. Bill and Mimi went on to have three children, William Bradshaw, infant Elizabeth (deceased) and Mary Ellen.

Bill was predeceased by his mother, Stacy Elizabeth; father, William Gaston and infant daughter Elizabeth. He is survived by his spouse Mary (Mimi), son William (Brad) Bradshaw (Olga) of League City, Texas; daughter Mary Ellen Stahl (Jeff) of Arlington Heights, IL and grandchildren Jack of San Diego, and Natalie Stahl of Arlington Heights, Illinois.

A small memorial service will be held on July. 7, 2023 at the Wesleyan Independent Living Facility, 210 White Heron Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628. His final resting place will be at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
