Georgetown offers rideshares as public transit option

Later this year, the City of Georgetown will launch a transportation program that will allow residents to take rides with UberX that will be partially paid for by the city. This is part of the city’s effort to create a public transportation system for residents.

Parking was a top concern for residents who submitted feedback about Georgetown’s Downtown Master Plan draft earlier this month.

Future Bell County development requests to leave Georgetown water

Solana Ranch — a master planned community with 14,000 single-family homes planned for a 6,311-acre parcel of land located predominantly in southern Bell County and partially in Williamson County — requested to leave Georgetown’s water system at the city’s April 23 city council workshop.

Georgetown approves rezoning

Georgetown’s extraterritorial jurisdiction will see a new mixed-density neighborhood and commercial center with an estimated 2,500 to 3,000 residential units.
The development, which is called Heirloom, will sit on 361.

After choosing to move forward with a simplified Austin Avenue pedestrian bridge due to budget constraints, Georgetown City Council changed their decision March 26 to move forward with a more dramatic and expensive bridge option that was well-liked by the majority of the council.
