Georgetown man gets 90 years for child sexual assault

Richard Vincent Ramos of Georgetown was sentenced to 90 years in prison by a Williamson County jury following a conviction for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. The 43-year-old chose to dismiss his court-appointed counsel and represent himself.

HARC approves changes to old Wesleyan building

The Historic Architecture Review Commission on Thursday, October 9, accepted pre-conceptual plans for additions and renovations the Texas Municipal League could make to the old Wesleyan building at 205 East University Avenue.

Texas Municipal League eyes Georgetown for new headquarters

The old Wesleyan building at 205 East University Avenue could be taken over by the Texas Municipal League as is seeks approval for a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for any potential future additions or demolitions to the building from the Historic Architecture Review Commission.

Georgetown learns of ‘pain points’ for residents

Since Georgetown launched its 311-style system, askGTX, in May, the city has received about 2,400 support tickets on issues such as flickering lights, uneven sidewalks, roadkill and intersection improvements. Traffic complaints and signal issues are among the most common submissions.

GTX Film Festival delights in 2025

The 2025 annual GTX Film Festival once again exceeded my high expectations. On September 27, an engaged audience viewed fresh, diverse, and impactful films while dedicated filmmakers had opportunities for robust networking.
