UPDATE: Start of Red Poppy Festival delayed due to weather

The start of this weekend's Red Poppy Festival on the Square has been delayed at least until later Friday evening due to the severe thunder storm that hit Georgetown at about 4:30 p.m. Visit Georgetown, Texas, which is providing updates on Facebook, said the festival could open by 8 p.m.

Old Town walk explores Georgetown's red poppy history

A group of 15 people gathered Monday morning near Edwards Park in Georgetown for a poppy-themed history walk led by local historian Helen Cordes.

The Georgetown Sertoma Club's 20th Red Poppy Ride on Saturday, April 22, 2023 began in the parking lot behind Richarte High School. Participants cycled through various areas of Williamson County. Distances for rides were 14, 28, 40, 60 and 100 miles.

Georgetown's Red Poppy Festival is April 28-30

Join in on the fun during Georgetown’s 24th annual Red Poppy Festival. The event, which features live entertainment, family activities and over 100 artisan vendors, takes place April 28-30 on the Square.

POPP Pup Parade, pet costume contest set for Poppy Fest weekend

Red Poppy festival will again hit Georgetown, Sunday, April 30, and pet lovers are invited to participate in the POPP parade and pet costume contest. The event is organized by Wag Heaven Pet Supplies and Self-serve Dog Wash and the city of Georgetown. The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Red Poppy Festival books Jamestown Revival as headliner

Magnolia-based folk music duo Jamestown Revival will headline this year’s Red Poppy Festival.  The three day Red Poppy Festival takes place in downtown Georgetown April 28-30, with live music, entertainment, food and vendor booths.
