Unemployment rates rise in Williamson County, Central Texas

The Texas Workforce Commission released updated unemployment numbers for Central Texas counties for May 2023.  In April, unemployment in Williamson County was 3.2 percent. In May, unemployment in the area increased to 3.5 percent.  The average unemployment rate for the Central Texas region is 3.

Wilco and YMCA opens bridge at Twin Lakes Park

Williamson County and the YMCA of Central Texas hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the Twin Lake Park Pedestrian Bridge in Cedar Park June 20. The Twin Lakes YMCA is located at 204 East Little Elm Trail.    The 300-foot bridge connects the 50-acre YMCA property to the 6.

Commissioners approve park fees for Liberty Hill's River Ranch Park

Williamson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday, June 13, revised county park fees for the River Ranch County Park, 2100 County Road 279, Liberty Hill. According to updated fees on the Williamson County Park and Recreation website, campers can rent a tent on the campsite for $10-$30.

Saddle up to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo this weekend

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse is hosting their annual rodeo Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24, at the group’s arena in Jarrell, 1600 County Road 305.  Each day, gates open at 6 p.m. and rodeo events begin at 8 p.m.

Hutto father raises funds for Alzheimer's research in honor of his own dad
