Georgetown nonprofit awards high school seniors scholarships

Six seniors from East View and Georgetown High Schools received scholarships ranging from $3,000- $5,000 from Georgetown’s branch of the American Association of University Women to continue their education. AAUW’s four Jessie Daniel Ames Scholarships — as well as two $5,000 W.D.

Georgetown ISD names new Richarte High School principal

Georgetown ISD trustees on April 20 named Drew Nichols as the next principal of Richarte High School, the district’s alternative high school of choice. He will assume his role at Richarte in July.Mr.

East View High School advances to basketball playoffs after win vs. Georgetown

East View’s varsity basketball team closed out its 2026 regular season with a win over in-town rivals Georgetown High School 58-48 Tuesday night, bringing the team’s record to 24-9 on the year. Georgetown’s record fell to 11-23.The win sends East View to the playoffs this season.

Georgetown High School students evacuated Wednesday morning due to bomb threat

Update: Georgetown Police Department confirmed that a voicemail bomb threat led to Georgetown High School being locked down Wednesday morning. "Due to the nature of the threat, GISD made a decision to evacuate the school.

School Notes: Georgetown High School Lady Eagles salute Gym Rat Challenge finishers

The Georgetown High School Lady Eagles Basketball Program recently recognized several young athletes for completing its annual Gym Rat Challenge.This off-season skills program is offered following the annual Lady Eagles Summer Basketball Camp.

School Notes

Rising Georgetown High School senior Kamrin Gordon and 2024 GHS graduates Elizabeth McCallum and Brayden Boff earned the Outstanding Performer Award at the 2024 Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest for solos in Voice, Harp and Timpani, respectively.The competition was held May 25 and 27.

Georgetown High School boys win 5A State swim meet for second year in a row

Competing against 50 other schools on the highest stage, Georgetown High School boys swimmers came out on top this weekend in the Class 5A University Interscholastic League  finals. The swim event took place this weekend, February 23-24, at the University of Texas at Austin.
